WebsiteInland Empire Veterinary Imaging

Inland Empire Veterinary Imaging, located in beautiful Spokane, WA has an opening in our three-year Diagnostic Imaging Residency Program for an August 2021 start.

IEVI provides candidates with the ideal environment for professional growth, and our program is designed to meet and exceed all ACVR residency requirements. In addition, our goal is to ensure proper training and preparation for the resident to become a clinical radiologist and to grow skill set in all imaging modalities to optimize patient diagnosis and care. A two-year contract post-residency is required.

Our residency program is led by Dr. Jeff Siems, DACVR, Dr. Paxton Harness, DACVR, and is supported by Dr. Krystina Stadler, DACVR out of our partner hospital Summit Veterinary Referral Center in Tacoma, Washington. We currently have a first-year resident with plans to accept a new resident each year. This program includes 30 months of clinical training with 6 months for scholarly activity to include out rotations for large animal imaging, MRI and offsite courses in nuclear medicine as well as study time for board preparation, mock exams and vacation.

IEVI is a veterinary diagnostic imaging practice specializing in ultrasound, CT, digital radiography, and radiographic interpretation. Our imaging equipment includes two Cannon digital radiograph suites with Asteris Keystone PACS, a Toshiba Aquilion 16 slice CT, and three ultrasound units (Samsung RS85, Toshiba Aplio 500, Aloka Alpha 7). We provide services to veterinarians across a large network of referral partners in Washington, Idaho, Montana and Canada. We are located in a multi-specialty hospital featuring three surgeons, a clinical pathologist, two internists, an oncologist, a dermatologist, a criticalist, and a robust emergency department.

The physics component of the program is fulfilled by an in-person (1:1) instruction by a professor of physics of medical imaging from a local university. In addition, IEVI has an off-site agreement with Summit Veterinary Referral Center for three months of MRI and fluoroscopy training. Both hospitals have a clinical caseload that is diverse and complex, aiding in excellent training opportunities for our residents. The Nuclear Medicine requirement will be obtained through University of Tennessee Course and teaching file casework.
