Human-quality diagnostic imaging for pets


Up to three applicants will be accepted for our 2021-2022 one-year internship, beginning and ending on July 15th. The internship position will be based in Austin, Texas or Salt Lake City, Utah, and will provide one-on-one training and close collaboration with our three ACVR board-certified radiologists. You will receive hands-on experience with a wide variety of the most advanced imaging modalities currently available, including 3T MRI, 128 slice CT, C-arm fluoroscopy, Nuclear Medicine, Tekscan gait analysis, Ultrasound and Echocardiography. You will have access to our archive containing thousands of past cross-sectional imaging cases, and associated case reports with included cytology and histopathology. Responsibilities include assisting with procedures in ultrasound, gait analysis, nuclear scintigraphy, and CT/MR, assisting with anesthesia/sedation, operating the MR machine, assisting in clinical trials, writing imaging reports for review, and managing I-131 patients. Interns will regularly participate in MR fellowship programs, journal club, residency rounds, attend local VMA meetings, and will have opportunities to publish.

SVI is the first stand-alone outpatient veterinary imaging center in Central Texas, and the first to offer state-of-the-art Philips 3 Tesla MRI with dStream (fully digital RF chain). In June of 2021 we will open our second location in Salt Lake City, Utah, to include 3T MRI, 128-slice CT, Ultrasound, Echocardiography, and Nuclear medicine.


Salary and Benefits

·       $30,000 annual salary

Application Requirements

·       Motivated to get a radiology residency

·       Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary school

·       Eligible to obtain Utah and Texas licensure

·       Three letters of reference

·       Specific interest in the MR subspecialty of radiology is preferred, not required
