The Oncology Service

The Oncology Service (TOS) has a unique opportunity for a veterinary radiation oncologist to join our practice in Richmond, VA.  TOS is dedicated to the integration of personalized and compassionate care with cutting edge options for cancer.


Our Richmond oncology center is equipped with a Varian linear accelerator, 120 leaf MLC, and OBI/CBCT capable of IMRT/IGRT/SRT as well as an 8-slice GE CT scanner located immediately adjacent to the linear accelerator.  We are the first veterinary radiation facility to utilize Raystation, an advanced and intuitive radiation treatment planning system and Mobius, a robust on-line linac QA package.  We have new Heska Element blood analyzers capable of providing CBC, chemistry, ionized calcium, electrolyte, and blood gas results in less than 15 minutes, a brand new Vet-Ray digital x-ray system, and are one of the only veterinary oncology facilities to utilize Scopio, an advanced slide scanning device with capability to submit slides to a pathologist and receive results in as little as 30 minutes.


This opportunity would provide support, collaboration, and mentorship from the other radiation oncologists in our practices, Drs. Ira Gordon and Pamela White as well as medical oncologists Drs. Angharad Waite, Christina Manley, and Kathleen Tidd.

Opportunity to work collaboratively with our team of 8 veterinarians exclusively dedicated to providing the highest level of medical and radiation oncology care including 2 board-certified radiation oncologists, 3 board-certified medical oncologists as well as access to numerous other specialists within the Ethos Veterinary Health network. Teaching opportunities with house officers (oncology interns and residents)

Our practice includes direct access to clinical trials through our close relationship with Animal Clinical Investigation, Ethos Discovery and our participation in the leadership of the Veterinary Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (VRTOG)
