Abdominal ultrasound of the duodenum.

  • A radiopaque “square” is visible in the stomach and is consistent with a foreign body.
  • The gas pattern in the small intestines is irregular, with sharp, comma shaped gas bubbles.
  • The small intestines are bunched and plicated, with a persistent linear echogenecity running through the lumen.
  • The gastric foreign body is visible as a linear, echogenic margin, with distal shadowing, and is located in the pylorus.
