ACVR Distinguished Service Award

This award is presented to members of the ACVR who have made an outstanding service contribution to the College.

Previous Award Recipients, Dr. Tom Nyland (L) and Dr. Robert McLear (C). Accompanied by Dr. John Mattoon (R) who nominated McLear for the award in 2015.

Awards are not presented annually but after nomination by ACVR Diplomates (see below). Up to 2 awards may be given per year.

Nomination of Potential Awardees:

The nomination must be made in writing by an ACVR Diplomate and must include:

  • Letter of nomination from the sponsoring ACVR Diplomate
  • A summary of the contributions of the individual relevant to the award nomination. This information will be posted on the ACVR web site if the nominee is awarded.
  • Two letters of support from additional ACVR Diplomates

Nominations must be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word or pdf format with copies to the ACVR Administration, Executive Director, and the ACVR President at least 45 days prior to an Executive Council Meeting.

Selection of Award Winners:

Winners of the American College of Veterinary Radiology Distinguished Service Award must have 3/4 affirmative vote by the ACVR Council.

Presentation of the Award(s):

The ACVR President will present the Award(s) at the Annual Meeting of the American College of Veterinary Radiology. If the nomination is made at the year-end Executive Council meeting, the award will be presented the following year. The award consists of a plaque engraved with the following:
