Dr. William Hornof
The Bernstein Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Dr. Hornof at ACVR's 2022 Conference in Reno, NV
On October 19, 2022, at ACVR’s annual conference, an event entitled Honoring New & Established Diplomates started with welcoming those that recently passed the certifying exam to become official ACVR diplomates. It ended with a presentation by Dr. John Mattoon. In his talk, Dr. Mattoon discussed the history of the Bernstein Lifetime Achievement award and its recipients. He concluded by awarding his past mentor and colleague, Dr. William Hornof, the 2022 Bernstein Lifetime Achievement Award.
Dr. Hornof has an exemplary career-long service to the ACVR, serving on Executive Council three times and taking the reigns as president twice, in 2007 and 2017. His impact on veterinary radiology extends well beyond service to the ACVR. Read below the letters that led to his receiving of the award. Bill stands alone in having TWO such impactful careers in veterinary radiology, one in academics and the other in industry. His retirement from UC Davis was anything but a retirement!
