Dr. Richard Park
Dr. Richard Park has been serving the ACVR and the profession of veterinary radiology for over 50 years. He has been a pioneer in the field, with a tremendous record of research, teaching and mentoring.
Dr. Park’s engagement with ACVR dates back to the 1970s, when he was an executive council member and served as president in 1977-1978. He has stayed involved since then, including as a returning member of executive council, a member of the editorial boardand member and chair of the exam committee. Dr. Park’s commitment to academia and the advancement of the profession is strong. Dr. Park served on the faculty of Colorado State University for nearly 40 years, much of that time as the head of service of the radiology department. He has been an author of over 130 publications and mentored over 50 graduate students and even more veterinary radiology residents.
More recently Dr. Park has been a key figure in the development and formation of the subspecialty of the ACVR-Equine Diagnostic Imaging. His experience, dedication and patience were key elements in the success of that initiative. Beyond his professional success, Dr. Park deserves recognition as a man of impeccable ethics, kindness, patience and dedication to his family, his colleagues and his mentees.
